A Sporting Affair
People often wonder about the choices i make in who i choose to support
in the sporting arena, be it basketball or football some have often
made jokes or laughed at the clubs and players i support.
It does not really affect me though.
Why see a man for his skill rather than his intagibles?
Character is something that tend to be overlooked nowadays
After all's been said and done in the professional sporting world
What's left of a man is not his money,
not by his legacy,
but by his
Character
Vlade Divac
people often laugh when i mention that Divac (Dee-Vats) is my favourite player of all time.
"He's keeps flopping" they say, trying to draw the charging foul.
But Divac has something most big men in the league do not have,
the natural instincts to play the game
He's the best passing center of all time
and is often witty and humourous in the post match interviews
and in regards to his flopping, the commentators often say they miss it
cause no one could do it as well as his did.
and that definately deserves an Emmy Award.
Vlade retired from professional basketball last year
Here's a small tribute to my favourite player
New Blood
after Divac's retirement, i did not really keep up with the NBA (actually i never really did)
but while playing NBA Live 2005, i found another player that i liked.
Pau Gasol
Gasol is rather new in the NBA and a long career is still ahead of him
but he's already playing like a veteran
posting up more than 20 points in every game
and grabbing plenty of rebounds as well
His career Hi-lights?
He was the NBA rookie of the year in his first year
and has been selected to the western all stars
grabbing more than 10 rebounds in the all star game
Although i do not follow him like a statistical nut
I'll always support him no matter what
like Divac, both men have a little something extra -
Character.
